Rhodes Alumni Counsellor & Life Coach Directory

We are honoured to bring you a list of our graduates who have chosen to list their services on our Alumni Directory. All of our graduates have received significant training to help them become professional coaches and counsellors. Directory listing does not guarantee their ability to help every individual and Rhodes Wellness College does not guarantee the work of every graduate. We always urge potential clients to find the best counsellors and coaches that work for their unique situations.

Biography

While being passionate about peace in the world for as long as I can remember, I was struggling to manage my own anger. My education in science and IT didn’t help. When I started working, I knew that anger was not an emotion allowed at work, but conflicting situations happened frequently as part of the life of the project. I spent a lot of my energy repressing my emotions, not knowing how to express them adequately. All I wanted was to be able to articulate my concerns in an acceptable way so that we could all solve the problems that we were facing. That’s until I learned about Nonviolent Communication, also known as Compassionate Communication. My first encounter with it was an eye opener and I remember it vividly. I love how it embraces our humanity by welcoming our judgments as what they really are: signals, warming us that something is off. Now, when something happens, I can sense it very early in the process and decide what I want to do with them. I am in control of my reactions, able to express to others what is off and preserve the relationships I care about. I can now move from anger to peace, consciously. And so can you. It took me several trainings and a few years to get where I am. I now want to support people who have a hard time dealing with anger find their durable peace, accelerating their path using my own experience as well as my trainings. This journey has brought me a lot, not only at work but also in my family and personal life. I can now fully enjoy living with my two teenagers and stay calm when I find the fridge empty!

Areas of Specialization: specialize in Conflict Resolution, using Nonviolent Communication. I offer coaching, as well as training in Nonviolent Communication or workshops on different topics linked to wellness at work: personalities in the workplace, time and priority management, I’m located in Comox, BC, on Vancouver Island and I work in person or online.
